Unsworth Vineyards

The Turyk family has long history of summers at Vancouver Island's Shawnigan Lake, and in the fall of 2009, became aware of a small vineyard and winery for sale in the nearby in the South Cowichan Valley. Translated from the local Coast Salish dialect, Cowichan or 'warm land,' is a unique terrior for growing curious new grape varietals. With a forty year history in BC's fishing industry, proprietors Tim & Colleen Turyk felt ready for a new challenge.

Venturi Schulze Vineyards

For those well-versed in the local wines of British Columbia, and specifically Vancouver Island, the name Venturi Schulze is known for achieving excellence through natural processes: they don't use pesticides, herbicides, or even irrigation. One of the oldest vineyards on Vancouver Island, they have been working diligently since 1988 to produce pure products: no pesticides, no herbicides, and no compromise in the vineyard or winery.

Silverside Farm & Winery

Situated at the south end of the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island BC, Silverside Farm & Winery produces blueberries as well as berry wines and fortified (port-style) dessert wines. In addition to fresh berries and produce, they also offer jams, jellies, and syrup made on their farm.

When Silverside approached Hired Guns Creative to redesign their website, Richard's thoughts ran immediately to a dark, lush design that would effectively highlight their products.

Sean Fenzl, Photographer

Nanaimo-based photographer Sean Fenzl has worked closely with Hired Guns Creative since the beginning of the company. His expertise in product photography - especially the area of glass - was hugely beneficial to both Hired Guns and their clients.

Sean and Richard worked together to create a brand based on Sean's signature. From there, they moved on to a business card design that has turned out to be very successful.

Downtown Nanaimo Business Improvement Association

Hired Guns Creative was hired by the Downtown Nanaimo Business Improvement Association to create a new brand and a new website for their organization. The Association was flush with new staff, a new board and a new name - they wanted a new image to go along with all of the other changes.

The resulting brand and website have a very modern, urban feeling to them that is in line with the current direction of both the DNBIA and Downtown Nanaimo in general.

The website features an active events calendar, a Member Directory, polls, a customized email newsletter, and more.

Independent Schools Association of BC

The Independent Schools Association of British Columbia came to Hired Guns with two requests: present their organization to the public and help them solve a challenging communications issue.

Tailfeather Graphics

Rocky Creek Winery

Mark and Linda Holford had many of the ingredients necessary for a successful small winery: a beautiful new vineyard right on the burgeoning Cobble Hill wine route, the knowledge and experience that comes with being a 3rd generation winemaker, and a very solid portfolio of wines that were starting to win awards. But they were missing a key ingredient: a good brand. But then they happened to cross paths with Hired Guns Creative.
