Nelson Brewing 30th Anniversary Beer

In the spring of 2021 the Nelson Brewing Co. celebrated their 30th anniversary with a re-launch of one of their original beers, the “Old Brewery Ale.” We helped them resurrect the beer with a label design that cherishes their history while celebrating the present and future in a fresh, contemporary design.

We dug deep into the Nelson Brewing design vault, pulling cues from old bottles, posters, the old school Nelson Logo, t-shirts, newspaper ads, whatever we could get our hands on; as well as vintage designs from the forefathers of craft beer and print itself. We even comprised colour palette libraries from old printing methods to really give it that Old Brewery experience.

The final product is something special, something tried and true, fresh style, organic, industrial, tattered, and triumphant. Old Brewery Ale looks like everything we love about the last 30 years of craft beer.
